This purple and white stone is a wonderful healing and cleansing tool. It
puts us in touch with our intuition and stimulates self-healing. It is marvelous
for insomnia if kept under the pillow and helps straighten out the
overemotional and frightened. If you have a headache, place the Amethyst
on your forehead for relief.
Amethyst is a good beginners crystal and is a basic for any crystal user.
Known also as the 'water stone', it can prevent seasickness, get rid of
water retention and help purify drinking water. It is especially good to
place in your daily glass of water. Aquamarine also helps clear thinking
and negativity.
As the name suggests, it helps people with blood disorders. It helps
cleanse the blood and is believed to make us more courageous and able to
face difficulties calmly.
Coral
A wonderful aid to digestion, coral helps to overcome toothache and gum
problems - although it is no substitute for proper dental hygiene! It also
encourages self-esteem and positive thinking, balancing out feelings of
worry about what other people think of us.
Diamond
This precious gem is a powerful crystal. It is believed to stimulate a
sense of direction in life and help strengthen one's courage. Just wearing
one in a ring will not, however, give you these qualities. Like any other
crystal, you need to create a bond with the crystal by talking to it,
stroking it and cleaning it regularly.
Emerald
The stone of true love. Emerald can help generate insight into a
relationship - which may or may not be welcome. It also bestows psychic
ability, heals inflammation and promotes a feeling of inner peace and
relaxation.
Garnet
This stone is good for balancing out sexual problems. Both overactive
sexuality and repressed urges will benefit from the power of Garnet. It
also encourages assertiveness and helps to regularize blood pressure.
Kunzite
Discovered in 1902, this stunning pink stone is superb for women who have gynecological
problems that are due to difficulties in accepting their femininity and
also for women who need to come to terms with all aspects of their
sexuality. It is a reassuring, healing, calming stone.
Lapis Lazuli
Honored as a royal stone by the ancients, this blue and gold stone has
always been believed to open the inner vision and to create a link between
this world and the inner realm. High priests used to wear it ground up as
eye makeup, and in jewely during rituals. It is good for anyone undergoing
spiritual awakening or instruction in a particular religion.
Opal
This highly sensitive stone has had 'bad press' for years. There are many
people who believe it is unlucky, but its reputation is the result of a
story by the writer Sir Walter Scott - and has no truth in it at all! Opal
does need to be treated with care, for it chips easily.
It's a water stone and loves being soaked in cold water and benefits from
being left in the moonlight from time to time. Opals reveal the state of
your physical and emotional energy, being dull when it is low and
brilliant when it is high again.
Pearl
A stone of triumph over adversity, of making the most of an unpromising
start, it is a gem of hope and inner strength. If a pearl loses it luster,
it is unlikely to regain it - it is believed to have lost its lifeforce.
Quartz
Clear Quartz has stimulating male qualities and opaque or milky quartz is
the receptive, female stone. If you are given to brooding upon the
unfairness of life, hold on to the clear quartz. If you need rest and
insight, choose the milky sort. Rose quartz is gentle - useful in times of
high emotion, like the break up of a relationship or bereavement. Along
with Amethyst, no person serious about crystals would be without this
powerful stone. More Quartz info click here.
Sapphire
A stone of control, it helps overcome temptation and guides one's thoughts
on to higher things! Star sapphires are deemed especially significant, for
the help guide people whose dreams and ambitions will one day benefit
humanity.
Tourmaline
This stone refuses to absorb or retain any negativity. It is a stone of
transition, both physical and emotional, and its beauty helps the process
of birth, menopause and death, as well as other rites of passage. It is
good for people who feel the world is against them and for those who have
a great need to forgive - especially themselves!
Turquoise
Ancient symbol of the sky, this stone benefits lungs and throat, and
because it contains a good deal of copper it is a superb conductor for the
healing force. It is also good for those terrified of speaking in public
or of appearing physically or emotionally weak. |
