Princess Amethyst's Garden Tips

The Season To Adorn Trees

The season is once more upon us, where we must choose a special tree for
adornment. The big question is whether we choose a potted tree, a cut tree
or an artificial tree. I, being a faerie, must admit I love live trees. The
heavenly pine scent fills the home and brings such pleasure and comfort to
the senses.

Happy Gardening!!!

FAIRY SPELLS   By Claire Nahmad   Click here to buy

Here is a wonderful guide to seeing and communicating with the faeries, including beautiful pictures as well as several spells to develop faerie vision. A detailed description is given, inviting us to the enchanted faerie isle. The days and hours best for seeing faeries are listed, as well as the places they haunt, followed by guidelines to avoid faerie tricksters. Faeries are great healers and herbalists, and some of their secrets are here revealed. The connection between faeries and angles is discussed. At the end of the book secrets to communicating and connecting with the faerie realm are indicated. This book combines science, history, philosophy, and religion in discussing the faerie realm, so that even non believers find themselves convinced. After all, you cannot doubt what is in your heart! This book is written for adults, and is an excellent learning tool, ideal even for beginners.

Song Lyrics (sing along)
LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH
by Jill Jackson & Sy Miller
Let There Be Peace On Earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let There Be Peace On Earth,
the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father,
brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother,
in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me,
let this be the moment now,
With ev’ry step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,
To take each moment and live each moment
in peace, eternally.
Let There Be Peace On Earth,
and let it begin with me.

Let There Be Peace On Earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let There Be Peace On Earth,
the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father,
brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother,
in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me,
let this be the moment now,
With ev'ry step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,
To take each moment and live each moment
in peace, eternally.
Let There Be Peace On Earth,
and let it begin with me.

Lady Lollypop's Contest

Lady Lollypop has chosen the Grand Prize Winner, Only a very few persons sent poems......out of 700 + members, that's the pits folks!  I know there's  more talent out there!  Makes it easy for the ones sending in poems to win doesn't it!  One poem was rejected due to the fact it wasn't original, but a copy of someone else's. Another was a bit too scary for our child safe environment,  All contest poems must be original, we didn't mention that before and only assumed you'd know that, sorry our mistake. They must be positive not negative type poems, scary can't be printed in our club house.  Nor can profanity. And we can't repeat winners for at least 3 contests, so new people have a chance to win also. So with that in mind. Read the winners poem and enjoy.

The Winner will receive one of the Following

CONGRATULATION!!
Grand Prize Winner
LADY INDIGO FAE

Honorable Mention
Marafae (sharing poem only...no prize)

Next Contest to be announced next year! 2003

RECIPES:

How to make your OWN Peppermint Candy

3 c Sugar
1 tsp. Peppermint flavoring
1/2 c Water
3/4 c Lite corn syrup
3/4 tsp. Red vegetable coloring
1/4 tsp. Cream of tartar
candy thermometer

Mix sugar, water, syrup, and cream of tartar
over medium heat until the sugar's dissolved real fine.

Divide mixture into two saucepans, boil, but don't stir. Boil until each reaches
a temperature of 280 degrees.

Add 1/2 tsp. peppermint to each pan and add the coloring to one. Place on a lightly oiled  enamel or marble table to cool.

Like taffy you stretch and pull and form into ropes of red and white, now twist
them around again and again. And form them into your candy cane.

Leave them on the board to cool once formed.

Why has the Candy Cane Long been a tradition &
what does it symbolize?

It's sweet peppermint taste
has been enjoyed by young
and old for years.

It is a hard candy because the church is
built on solid rock and God's promises
are a firm foundation.

The formation of the "J" is for Jesus

The large red stripe is for the blood
Jesus shed for our sins on the cross.

White is for pureness, We are saved from our sins!

p In A Food Kitchen
 Help In A Food Kitchen
During the holidays, soup kitchens appear everywhere.  They give individuals and families that have fallen on hard times a hot meal and some holiday cheer.  Volunteering your time to help in these kitchens is a very thoughtful thing to do.

Toys For Tots
Donate an unwrapped toy to a child in need in your local Toys For Tots collection barrels.  For more information on Toys For Tots, see their web site at http://toysfortots.org

Operation Cuddles
Donate a stuffed animal to a shelter or hospital or take some to your local Home for the Elderly.

Warmth During the Holidays
Winter time is here and it's very cold outside. Donating coats, jackets, hats and blankets to a homeless shelter would be a nice thing to do.

Christmas Caroling
I know a lot of members of the clubs like to sing. So, why don't you share your talent with others.  Go to a convalescent center or hospital and spread some holiday cheer.

I was out in my front garden watching a bumble bee in the fern, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a purple dragonfly land on the papaya tree.  I watched it for a while because I'd never seen a purple dragon fly before.  I thought it could be a fairy I had read that liked milk and bread so I went into the house and got some milk and fresh bread my mom had bought from the bakery and  ran back outside and set the food down and watched the dragonfly or faery.  Suddenly it flew down to the bread and milk then I saw it turn into a faerie!!!  It started drinking the milk and it took a bite of bread then flew off.    As soon as it left it was back with five other faeris!!!!! I heard a noise behind me I looked but saw nothing so I turned back and the food and faeries were gone but in there place was a small piece of gold!!! Jennie Fernandez   fern718jen@yahoo.com
