Happy Birthday October Faeries!!!

  NEWZ

Hello all, in the USA we celebrate Halloween with costumes and lots of candy.  This year our kids are using the theme of the Renaissance Period for there costumes.  I've been busy making costumes for the kids.  I love the renaissance period and we live near a site where they put  on a great Renaissance Party through October and the first part of November

Here's some of the costumes that we've made:

Book Reviews

FAIRY HOUSES
BY  TRACY KANE

Here is a delightful children's book based on a real place on Monhegan Island, called the cathedral wood, which is in Maine, USA. I read an article in my newspaper about this place where people can go to build fairy houses in the forest, using of course, only natural materials, nothing man made. The story centers around a young girl who visits this place, builds a fairy house and hopes the fairies come to visit! Due to her respect for nature, the fairies, and the rules of the wood, she is rewarded!! The story and pictures are wonderful, and the author has several other faerie stories in this series, as well as a video which I am eager to get called KRISTEN'S FAIRY HOUSE, also based on Monhegan. The author has a website as well www.fairyhouses.com
(See newz article on Monhegan)
The book ends with instructions on how to build your own nature friendly fairy house.

Until next month,
Fairie blessings,
Cerridwen

MysticRowenFae.gif (155560 bytes)Mystic Rowen Fae, talks to you about the FaerieBFFO cover page.jpg (76079 bytes) Oracle Cards:
THE FAERIES ORACLE by Brian Froud. It is called a divination deck;  a way of communicating with and learning from the faeries. The deck consists of 65 cards and each one provides a message from the fae in response to a question you have asked or if you are trying to discover more about yourself, your life, and your relationships. A card may turn up reversed in a reading, which may indicate a  blockage or delay in the message to be received. A reading can be a simple one card spread or a series of cards. the book that comes with the deck explains all this.

This month we will review card number 7, THE SINGER OF INTUITION. This card signifies the inner knowledge we are all blessed with but often do not listen to or hear. This is because at our stage of evolution to hear all the knowledge would be too overwhelming for us so we only get it in bits and peices. We can gain this knowledge by learning to be still, meditate, look deep inside ourselves. In a reading, this card indicates that the knowledge is there for us to listen to, we must be still and listen to our inner knowing-our hearts. This is the time to listen to our inner senses, even if we have heard them before and doubted, now is the time to listen and act. It is a good time to soul search.
REVERSED this card signifies that we need to ask ourselves what we need to do to become more in tune with our inner voice, more peaceful, more still, and the knowledge will come.
until next month be blessed

Garlic was worshipped by the ancient Egyptians, chewed by Greek Olympian athletes and thought to be essential for keeping vampires at bay!

But it is also good for zapping bacteria, keeping your heart healthy, warding off coughs and colds - and don't worry it needn't give you bad breath!

There are many benefits associated with taking garlic regularly.

Helpful Hints!

 Sewing Tips

*Drop a lot of pins and needles when you are sewing? Can't find them? Keep a magnet in your sewing basket. The magnet will help you find the elusive needles!

*Have problems with loose buttons? On buttons that have 4 holes, sew only 2 holes at a time. Break  the thread and knot. Then, sew the other 2 holes and knot. This way, when the button comes loose on one side, the button has a chance of staying with the garment! Also, using dental floss or elastic thread when sewing on buttons will help keep buttons on longer.

*Need a pin cushion in a hurray? Use a bar of soap!
*
Need help threading an needle?
Spray a small amount of hair spray on your finger when threading the needle and
dab on the end of the thread. This helps stiffen the thread just a tad and makes it
easier to insert into the eye!

Faerie Artists:

The World of James Browne

Greetings Everyone,

Well, the summer has come to an end and fall is upon us. I hope you all had an enjoyable and eventful summer. I have been very busy with some new and exciting projects and will certainly keep you informed in the near future.

However, I do have something to share with right now. As you all know, I have had a very lucky streak spotting the fae and wee folk in the past couple of years. But I had only dreamed of the day when I would see or come in contact with my first dragon. Well, that day has come! While I was vacationing in Germany this summer, my wife & I were walking along the beach on the Baltic Sea when we came across an egg. This was no ordinary egg and certainly was too big for any bird or tortoise to have laid. Too curious to keep strolling along the shore, we sat down beside it and waited. As dusk arrived we heard a sudden CRACK!!! We will never forget what we saw that day.

As I usually do with all our sittings, I have painted this creature for you all to see. By clicking the link below you will see what was in that odd looking egg.
