 New Faerie Artist: Edmund
Dulac is best known for his illustrations in the following books:
|
Edmund Dulac was born in Toulouse, France on
22nd October 1882. He was educated in Toulouse studying both law
and art, then moving to Paris and continuing his studies at
Académie Julian. He settled in London in 1906 working as an
illustrator, portrait painter and costume designer with much of
his work influenced substantially by Middle and Far Eastern
cultures. |

Introducing

Faerie Oracle Cards:
- THE FAERIES ORACLE by Brian Froud. It is
called a divination deck; a way of communicating with and learning
from the faeries. The deck consists of 65 cards and each one provides
a message from the fae in response to a question you have asked or if
you are trying to discover more about yourself, your life, and your
relationships. A card may turn up reversed in a reading, which may
indicate a blockage or delay in the message to be received. A reading
can be a simple one card spread or a series of cards. the book that
comes with the deck explains all this.

- The first card I will review is card # 1
which is called UNITY. When this card appears, it signifies union,
mystical experience and spiritual home. It indicates that we are all
part of one whole, that we must aim to work together and help one
another, and not try to do it all alone. This card reminds us that to
obtain our wholeness we need to resolve inner conflicts. REVERSED
means you have separated yourself from others, judging differences and
inequality and prejudice. We are either not giving or not receiving.
Forgiveness is key in moving toward others. Be the first to reach
out-don't wait for others. In unity there is trust, love and ecstasy.

VIOLET & CLAIRE

As a faerie in human form, I'm positive I wrote
this book in a former life as Claire-a true faerie spirit whose
imagination and enthusiasm are contagious. This is a young adult novel by
and author i have reviewed before, and found she has a real understanding
of the faerie spirit! It is a coming of age novel about 2 friends-one a
dark brooding fae, the other a "tinker bell" who are considered misfits
and find each other. Together they create a "whole being" that flies
through the night. they are high school girls coming to terms with their
identities. As they face the trials of life they realize that true
friendship is the strongest bond. The faerie imagery is unbelievable, and
being inside Claire's head was like reading my own mind!

Earth Day beg an
on April 22, 1970 and has been an important day ever since. It's a
day to reflect on our planet, our environment and what we can do to
help keep them healthy.
From the beginning, children and schools were approached to
support the formation and continuation of this special day. And
this makes sense! Children have the most important stake in keeping
our planet healthy. They'll still be the caretakers long after
their parents and grandparents have passed away. |

best friends since they were babies. They have often had great
adventures, however now that they are older and have families of their
