It was billed as "Three Days of Peace and Music," and the promoters were hoping for a crowd of 150,000 for a celebration of a communal spirit and to hear some of the most popular rock acts of the day. Nearly half a million young people arrived for the 3-day music festival.

Book Reviews by Cerridwen

A MIDSUMER NIGHT'S FAERY TALE
by Wendy Froud and Terri Windling

This is the first in a series of enchanting stories by Wendy Froud, puppet maker and wife of Brian Froud, and author Terri Windling. The story revolves around a young faery named Sneezle and takes place in the magical Old Oak Wood.  On midsummer eve a plan to overthrow the queen Titania must be thwarted, and it is up to humble sneezle to save the faery kingdom. His adventure takes him through the deepest parts of the wood, where he encounters a number of faeries, both good and bad, and a number of other characters. Magic is woven throughout the pages, and the stroy concludes on the greatest faery day of all, midsummers eve, with all its mystery and enchantment. This is a story of good outwitting bad, and even the humblest of faeries can be heroes! The puppetry of Wendy Froud brings the story to life-her artistry is outstanding, and Terri Windlings descriptive words weave a magical tale not to be forgotten. Thank heavens sneezle continues his adventures, in two more enchanting stories, to be reviewed in the upcoming months. The pictures alone could sell the book, but the tale as well could stand on its own. 100 stars!!!
until next month, cerridwen

MysticRowenFae.gif (155560 bytes)Mystic Rowen Fae, talks to you about the Faerie Oracle Cards:
THE FAERIES ORACLE by Brian Froud. It is called a divination deck;  a way of communicating with and learning from the faeries. The deck consists of 65 cards and each one provides a message from the fae in response to a question you have asked or if you are trying to discover more about yourself, your life, and your relationships. A card may turn up reversed in a reading, which may indicate a  blockage or delay in the message to be received. A reading can be a simple one card spread or a series of cards. the book that comes with the deck explains all this.

This month we will review card # 5

This month card #5-SHE OF THE CRUACH is being reviewed. This is the other half to last months card. While that card represented will, this card represents what is brought into being. This card is nurturing, a mother figure, representing fertility and blessings., manifestation of will. She is our growth, our fulfilling of potential. In a reading she can represent pregnancy, or a time that we must nurture ourselves in order to grow. We must now be open to her love and compassion and use it to fulfill our dreams. She is always present and once received will manifest our goals and desires. She offers comfort and nurturing to the other cards in the reading. As with HE OF THE FIERY SWORD-last months card, she has no reversed meaning, she is present at all times to all people. When she turns up reversed, it indicates her love is being blocked. The reader must ask himself why and how he is blocking her. The surrounding cards may help to answer this.

Until next month, remember to spread YOUR love and nurturing to others!
bright blessings

Merlin's Did You Know?

onion.jpg (177173 bytes) Why does cutting onions make us cry?

When we slice into an onion, a gas containing sulfur is released, which irritates our eyes.  we then produce reflex tears...our body's attempt to wash this substance out.
