SPIRITS OF THE FOREST
by Donna Ksepka aka  Daisy Moonflower (copyrighted)

Here, among the spirits of the forest, Love lives. Dreams from another place and time find their way back. Only if you possess the heart of a child can you wish these dreams awake. Join them as they dance in the moonlight. Hear the music of their laughter and take it into your heart. Come and listen as they whisper to you. Keep their secrets. Believe-they will guide you...

Blessed be, my friend...keep in touch

    VICTORIAN FAIRY PAINTING

This book is a fabulous collection of paintings and essays based on the works of various Victorian artists. This is the catalogue to the Victorian Fairy Exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, which was held several years back. It came to the USA to Toronto and Iowa. (how I wish I could have seen it!!!). The book depicts all of the paintings, along with essays about each painting as well as biographies of the artists, many of whom are well known.
Essays are written revealing the motivation and development of fairies in art, as well as the evolution of the fairy.
Described as well are fairies music, writing, stage, illustration, and fairy land.
While i was not fortunate enough to see the actual exhibit, this was the next best thing, and for those saw the exhibit, this is a must have accompaniment. It is not just art for the eye, but information for the mind. I learned quite about about the important role fairies have played throughout history. A 5 star exhibit and a 5 star book!

MysticRowenFae.gif (155560 bytes)Mystic Rowen Fae, talks to you about the FaerieBFFO cover page.jpg (76079 bytes) Oracle Cards:
THE FAERIES ORACLE by Brian Froud. It is called a divination deck;  a way of communicating with and learning from the faeries. The deck consists of 65 cards and each one provides a message from the fae in response to a question you have asked or if you are trying to discover more about yourself, your life, and your relationships. A card may turn up reversed in a reading, which may indicate a  blockage or delay in the message to be received. A reading can be a simple one card spread or a series of cards. the book that comes with the deck explains all this.

This month we will review card number 8,

    THE SINGER OF COURAGE

The best way to define courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to go on DESPITE your fear. We are all born with fears, and a lesson in life is to overcome these fears rather than bury them. This card represents that courage, that ability to persevere in the face of fear or trouble. It signifies that courage is present, that you must grab on to it and fight. The singer of courage is a gift, and when it shows up in a reading we are being offered the gift, we must open ourselves to accept it!!!

REVERSED This card means we are lacking courage, we our succumbing to our fears and letting them rule us. Here one must ask-what am i really afraid of? It is time for deep soul searching. "what can i do to open my heart to the gift of courage to face my fears?" What is the obstacle standing in my way that i fear?

    until next month be blessed

    "Fall Herbs"

Herbs are plants that are used as flavoring agents. The common herbs used in cooking are referred to as culinary herbs. Mild or savory herbs impart a delicate flavor to food while the stronger or pungent herbs add zest to foods. These herbs are attractive and varied so their ornamental value is also important.

    MUSIC

A very happy boy and pumpkin pie!

    Over the River
    (Thanksgiving Day)

    midi playing now

Over the river and through the wood
    To Grandfather's house we go.
         The horse knows the way
         To carry the sleigh
    Through white and drifted snow.

Over the river and through the wood --
Oh, how the wind does blow!
         It stings the toes
         And bites the nose,
As over the ground we go.

Over the river and through the wood
    To have a first-rate play.
         Hear the bells ring,
         Ting-a-ling-ling!
    Hurrah forThanksgiving Day!
Over the river and through the wood,
    Trot fast, my dapple gray!
         Spring over the ground
         Like a hunting hound,
    For this is Thanksgiving Day.

Over the river and through the wood,
And straight through the barnyard gate.
         We seem to go
         Extremely slow --
It is so hard to wait!

Over the river and through the wood --
    Now Grandmother's cap I spy!
         Hurrah for fun!
         Is the pudding done?
    Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!
