Heart Felt Poems by Julia McCarthy

Remember Me?

 "Do you see me?

Are you wary?

Do you know me?

I am the faerie.

"I knew you once,

In all idle pride,

But you have forgotten,

Where we faeries hide.

"Do you remember me,

The one you loved though any fear?

I'm still here beside you,

Feel my presence near.

"Midnight is my shadow,

A mystery bold and grave,

My haunting beauty beckons to you,

But I know you are not brave."

Harmony

 "We used to live together,

But you think all to be your own,

And I've no place,

I have no home.

"You have no faith,

In the stories told,

You banished our existence,

You left us in the cold.

"And yet my hope's undying,

That someday you will see,

That we gave you the haunting gift,

Of faerie harmony."

Silent Tears

"I am lonely, I am cold,

I wonder o'er thine land unseen.

And while though sits inside and warm,

Outside I wait, shedding silent tears.

In dreams though used to see me,

But now in hiding I cry,

Thou is my love, thou once loved me too,

But now thine world, with me, is dying.

Yet though may change what thine all see,

Though art the one in power,

And if thou still remember to dream selflessly,

Thou art beautiful."

The Pixie's Love

"O gather 'round the fire,
For I have a tale to share,
About the Pixie Prince's love,
A darling maiden fair.

"Now if you know what's good for you,
Don't mess with the likes of she,
For though a Jitter Jewel she seems,
Beware, though good, she's powerful, Pixie.

"They sat one night under Pix-la Oak,
Eating fruit off the magnificent tree,
'My dear,' said he, 'I do love thee!'
Then danced he in the moonlight, with a small skip of glee.

" 'I love you too, my Pixie Prince!'
The fair witch cried in joy,
'Let us be wed in the Racia Wood,
O I love you, my Pixie boy!'

"The ceremony was a grand affair,
The guests brought gifts, and hogs!
The feast was the finest feast for miles,
And they danced to a chorus of frogs!

"The prince and fair witch lived merrily,
In an old russet roof rafter,
They had six hundred children,
And lived happily ever after!"

Immortality

"The only secret I do keep,
One full of peace, tranquility,
The secret revealed at midnight,
Is Immortality.

"I live for all the moons of time,
Flying o'er the land and sea,
In you past and future I'll be there,
For all eternity."

Nymph

 I am the Nymph,

The wild forest's eye,

You hear me in the dead of night,

The lark's breathless cry.

I am the song,

In the voice of the girl,

I am many creatures,

Am opal and pearl.

I am the ghost of the forest by night,

The silence of death's lowly tone,

I am the voice of the dream in your heart,

As I wander by night, alone.

I am the Nymph,

My heart is of frost,

I wander this Earth,

But forever am lost.
