February Craft
During the month of February I would like to challenge everyone to get involved in a craft with someone you love, or gift something you have made by hand to someone you love! Then post your story on the bulletin board so that others can enjoy your gift of time! February can be a very lonely month for many, but if you busy yourself and spend time enjoying this challenge Spring will arrive and spirits will lift!

Gnome Dolls
Over the past year I have been investigating gnome dolls for our doll collectors. Here is the first of a series of gnome doll articles. http://www.roaring-twenties.com/antiques___dolls.htm

Gnome dolls by Annalee. This company appears to have marketed just over 30 gnome dolls. To see a list of the gnome dolls and some written information on each go to the link below. A list of Annalee gnome dolls including values will appear.
Most dolls produced by Annalee Mobilitee Dolls, Inc. prior to 1997 are listed on their site. The listings represent a compilation of available data that will assist you in identifying your dolls. A number of historical tidbits are also included.

GNOME WANT AD:  Looking for a computer literate gnome? Look no farther than this link!

Here are those 21st Century Gnomes...please leave your comments on the bulletin board...what do you think of these gnomes made in the UK? The one to the left seems to have a Walkman, the gnome in the middle a cell phone and the chap to the right appears to be eating fast food?

Here is the link to the company making these molds

Totem Animal Book Cover"TABLE PUPPETS" are just simple little dolls that have a solid base so that they are free-standing. Carolee Carpenter Jandreau is the creator of this "Crayon Batik" Craft Pattern in which you color on cloth using crayons. It is as easy as coloring in a coloring book and very easy to sew and assemble! Results in permanently colored fabric with no waxy residue. Great craft for children yielding durable, imaginative play figures. You can email Carolee with any questions you may have. This is a complete pattern and instructions for "TABLE PUPPETS" of a large Gnome family including Parents, Elders, Children, Toddlers, Babies and Pets. The size of finished figures range from 3? babies to 6? adults.

Horse DecalPatterns can be purchased at a price of $8.95 plus $2.00 shipping & handling. Florida residents must add 7% sales tax. The picture to the left shows Carolee's own "Nature's Treasure Table" (sometimes called a "Seasons Table") with the Gnomes created using some the designs in this pattern. Email Carolee at ccj@joysofthespirit.com. Visit the Joys of the Spirit website at http://www.joysofthespirit.com/

"About me... I'm 19... ack getting old! I'm an Aussie gal in university doing Graphic Design... and um... I draw (Duh). So yeah! Anything else you want to know about me you can find out about on my lil website (click the link above) You can also do a bunch of other stuff there, like read comics I made, print out paperdolls, find out about commissions etc etc! Ummm, I think that's about it? Oh well, enjoy the actual pictures, which is, after all why this site is here!"

From Selina's site you can print off this doll, or create an electronic version that you can have fun dressing. There is also a wonderful background scene to use with this gnomish doll. I think she is fabulous! I believe this girl is very talented and shoud be encouraged to continue to make gnome cut-out dolls. Visit her site and email her encouragement to create more such dolls!

Just look at these new wonderful gnomes available from Gare Inc.!

I have ordered all of these gnome molds and just know that I am going to enjoy bringing these jolly fellows to life! We are lucky to have as a member of our club, Bumpy (G135)...aka Robert Sharpe from Gare's Design Department.

These are rare items indeed! Garden Globes are currently very popular and the gnome with the globe (13 inches tall) is pictured at the top of this newsletter. He was first on my list for my spring gnome garden display! This year's theme, the "YEAR OF CONSEQUENCE" makes the gnome gazing into the crystal ball just perfect! I completed mine and he currently stares out my patio doors...waiting for spring. Thanks Bumpy!

Ask for this technique sheet at your local ceramic shop. If you are unable to obtain any of these gnomes from your local ceramic shop email me QueenGnome@foundus.com. Visit the Gare web site for great tips! www.gare.com - QueenGnome G7, Certified Gare Teacher.

P.S. I have been informed that these globes attract butterflies to the garden...bet the wee faeries will be attracted to them too!

Our next issue will feature Gnome Wizards...which are males. Does anyone know what a female trained in these arts is called? Leave your responses on our new bulletin board!
http://pluto.beseen.com/boardroom/m/56848/ Thanks Rainshadows, it's working just great now!
