February Craft
During the month of February I would
like to challenge everyone to get involved in a craft
with someone you love, or gift something you have made
by hand to someone you love!
Then post your story on the bulletin board so that others can enjoy your gift
of time! February can be a very lonely month for many, but if you busy
yourself and spend time enjoying this challenge Spring will arrive and spirits
will lift!

Over the past
year I have been investigating gnome dolls for our doll collectors. Here is
the first of a series of gnome doll articles.

Gnome dolls by Annalee.
This company appears to have marketed just over 30 gnome dolls. To see a list
of the gnome dolls and some written information on each go to the link
below. A list of Annalee gnome dolls including values will appear.
Most dolls produced by Annalee
Mobilitee Dolls, Inc. prior to 1997 are listed on their site. The listings
represent a compilation of available data that will assist you in identifying
your dolls. A number of historical tidbits are also included.

Gnome Doll Cut-Out - Feature Artist Selina A. Fenech http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/a/l/almira/gnome.gif.html ![]()
- link to more information about Selina written by Selina herself...real honest kinda gal! "About me... I'm 19... ack getting old! I'm an Aussie gal in university doing Graphic Design... and um... I draw (Duh). So yeah! Anything else you want to know about me you can find out about on my lil website (click the link above) You can also do a bunch of other stuff there, like read comics I made, print out paperdolls, find out about commissions etc etc! Ummm, I think that's about it? Oh well, enjoy the actual pictures, which is, after all why this site is here!" From Selina's site you can print off this doll, or create an electronic version that you can have fun dressing. There is also a wonderful background scene to use with this gnomish doll. I think she is fabulous! I believe this girl is very talented and shoud be encouraged to continue to make gnome cut-out dolls. Visit her site and email her encouragement to create more such dolls! www.soul-flowers.com/gnomedoll.html
Here is a picture of a gnome couple
that belong to Paul. Paul is trying to find out more about these beautiful
gnome dolls. I personally was unable to assist him as I have never seen such
dolls. If you have then please let me know so that I can pass this information
on to him, or send him an email with a copy to me. Paul can be contacted at:

Just
look at these new wonderful gnomes available from Gare Inc.!
I have ordered all of these gnome
molds and just know that I am going to enjoy bringing these jolly fellows to
life! We are lucky to have as a member of our club, Bumpy (G135)...aka Robert
Sharpe from Gare's Design Department.
These are rare items indeed! Garden
Globes are currently very popular and the gnome with the globe (13 inches
tall) is pictured at the top of this newsletter. He was first on my list for
my spring gnome garden display! This year's theme, the "YEAR OF
CONSEQUENCE" makes the gnome gazing into the crystal ball just perfect! I
completed mine and he currently stares out my patio doors...waiting for
spring. Thanks Bumpy!
Ask for this technique sheet at your
local ceramic shop. If you are unable to obtain any of these gnomes from your
local ceramic shop email me
QueenGnome@foundus.com. Visit the Gare web site for great tips!

P.S. I have been informed that these
globes attract butterflies to the garden...bet the wee faeries will be
attracted to them too!
Our next issue will feature Gnome
Wizards...which are males. Does anyone know what a female trained in these
arts is called? Leave your responses on our new bulletin board!

Rainshadows, it's working just great now!
