SEM_opal.gif (35401 bytes)Greetings my friends!!  For those of you who are new to my lecture, my name is Professor Stone E. Mountain but I go by Professor SEM.  Each month I am delighted to be given the opportunity to introduce you to the world of  stones, crystals, minerals and gems.  This information comes to you directly from the Gnomes ?Secret Book of Life? and this particular area is my expertise and my love.

 Turquoise

This month, I will be introducing the ?turquoise? and the ?pearl?, both equally fascinating and exquisite.  The turquoise is found in every possible color of blue, greenish blue and dark green.  The turquoise is found from the far east to the southwest of the United States, and prized by every culture including the gnomes.

Gnomes wear turquoise for various reasons.  It is considered a protection against the evil eye and warns the wearer of danger or illness.  It also helps one to start a new project and to complete it.  The turquoise brings happiness, serenity and good fortune to the wearers and their homes.

It is a master healing stone that promotes spontaneity in romance or to stimulates new romances amongst our young male gnomes.  The turquoise is a highly spiritual stone for  grounding, brings soothing energy and a peaceful mind.  The wearer will find strength, wisdom, protection and positive thinking.

Wearing turquoise will help you with strong communication skills, especially if you find you will be giving a speech or possibly even a proposal of marriage.  It is not unusual for a mother to give her son turquoise especially when she hopes he will marry a special young female gnome and she feels he may be a little reluctant to ?pop? the question.

This beautiful gem symbolizes the sky and spiritual love. It opens up the heart for giving and receiving.  It protects and detoxes one from pollution and detours negativity.  The turquoise helps one to bond with friendships and loyalties.

Wearing turquoise tones and strengthens the entire body, aids tissue regeneration, circulation, lungs, respiratory system, helps infections, aids in keeping your teeth healthy, releases fear, creativity blocks and depression.

Now for the pearl.  Such an organic gem!  It comes in many colors from the most popular and well-known white, to blues, creams, roses, exotic grays and blacks.  The perfectly well rounded pearls come from mollusk and the fresh water pearls come from river mussels.

Pearls have been associated with femininity and symbolize pure heart, mind innocence, and faith and are given to young female gnome when she turns 16.  It is a cherished gift as it represents that she no longer is a child but a beautiful young female adult.  It is also there to protect her when she marries and to ease childbirth.

Pearls were once regarded as the most valuable material on Earth.  There is conflict as to where the pearl originated on earth but I am here to tell you that originally the pearls were gifts from the moon filled with lunar elements to help one deal with balancing emotions, absorbs emotional stress and is a  "stone of sincerity" bringing truth and loyalty to all.

It is an honor when a young female gnome turns 16 as she is presented with her first pearl.  It symbolizes pure heart and mind, innocence and faith and protection for when she marries and when she bears her children.

Wearing the pearl absorbs emotional stress, eases anger and has been known to be used in digestive disorders and to relieve bloating.  The pearl is delicate gem and it is necessary to take precautions for its longevity.  It must be cleansed frequently and never use with abrasive materials. Well, I hope you have enjoyed my lecture.  As always, it is my pleasure to share with you the wonders of the universe.

I look forward to seeing you back next month and remember, if you have anything you would like to add, comment about or ask, feel free to email me.

 Until next month
