They were written by the Dutch author Wil Huygen and illustrator Rien Poortvliet, though they claimed that it was written by a Gnome called David. Those authors also created another series about Gnomes entitled The Gnomes. It is difficult to obtain but keep an eye on ebay or try http://addall for starts and you might get lucky. My copy is well used and missing a couple of the pop-ups but I am recreating the missing items and putting the book back in its original shape for the children in my life! Gotta keep these gnome tales alive! Again this book was published by Abrams ISBN number is 0-8109-0966-9. The book was inspired by the original book "Gnomes" by Poortvliet and Huygen. The book measures 7-3/4 x 10-3/4 is a hardcover and opens up to six different pop-up style pages. Each of these has a lovely little hand written story on it. A wonderful book to spend time with the wee ones. It consists of 32 beautiful pages. Each month of the year has a separate story giving details of what a gnome family does during that time of the year.
